DA, or Debtors Anonymous, is a free, anonymous twelve-step fellowship of people who help each other stop incurring unsecured debt and build a healthier relationship with money. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop incurring unsecured debt.

What counts as compulsive debting?

It is repeatedly taking on debt you cannot comfortably manage, including credit cards and unsecured loans, in a way that causes harm. DA is not about how much you owe, but about the pattern, and you do not need to be in crisis to come.

Is DA a debt-advice or money service?

No. DA does not give financial or legal advice, lend money, or manage your debts. It is a peer fellowship where people support each other to change their own behaviour. For regulated debt advice, see a service such as StepChange or Citizens Advice.

What is Business Debtors Anonymous (BDA)?

BDA is a focus within DA for self-employed people and business owners, whose personal and business finances are often intertwined. Our BDA page lists the meetings that carry this focus.

Yes. There are no fees and no referrals. What is said in the room stays in the room, and a first name is all anyone uses.
