About the fellowship

What MA is, and who it's for.

Search AA, NA and other UK recovery meetings by postcode, town, or fellowship, in person or online. No sign-up. No tracking of who you are. Just the door, the time, and how to get there.

Marijuana Anonymous, or MA, is a free, anonymous fellowship of people who help each other stop using cannabis and stay stopped, one day at a time. Members follow a twelve-step programme, with meetings in the UK in person and online.

There are no fees and no referrals. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using marijuana.

Who it's for

MA is for anyone who wants to stop using cannabis, by any name, whether smoked, vaped, or eaten. It does not matter how much or how often you use, and you do not have to be sure or to have stopped before you come. If part of you wonders whether it has become a problem, you are welcome to listen.

What happens in a meeting

A meeting usually lasts about an hour. Someone chairs it, reads a short opening, and members share from their own experience. You will not be called on or made to speak, and most people just listen at first. What is said in the room stays in the room, and a first name is all anyone uses.

A bit of history

Marijuana Anonymous was formed in 1989 in California, when several local groups for cannabis recovery joined together, adapting the twelve steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. The first UK meeting opened in London in 2000, and MA now runs in person and online.
