About the fellowship

What CA is, and who it's for.

Search AA, NA and other UK recovery meetings by postcode, town, or fellowship, in person or online. No sign-up. No tracking of who you are. Just the door, the time, and how to get there.

Cocaine Anonymous, or CA, is a free, anonymous fellowship of people who help each other stop using and stay stopped, one day at a time. Despite the name it is not only about cocaine, and there are meetings across the UK in person and online.

There are no fees and no referrals. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using cocaine and all other mind-altering substances.

Who it's for

CA is for anyone who wants to stop using cocaine or crack, and it is just as much for people whose problem is with other drugs or with alcohol. The fellowship's own wording is a desire to stop using cocaine and all other mind-altering substances, so you are welcome whatever you have been using, and you can attend any CA meeting.

You do not have to be sure, and you do not have to have stopped before you come. Many people use CA alongside or instead of another fellowship and find the room a good fit.

What happens in a meeting

A meeting usually lasts about an hour. Someone chairs it, reads a short opening, and members share from their own experience. You will not be called on or made to speak, and most people just listen for their first few meetings. What is said in the room stays in the room, and a first name is all anyone uses.

A bit of history

Cocaine Anonymous began in Los Angeles in 1982, started by people who needed a room that understood cocaine at a time when most recovery meetings were focused on alcohol. It follows the same twelve steps as Alcoholics Anonymous but is a separate, independent fellowship.

CA has met in the UK for many years and now runs in person, online, and as hybrids in towns and cities across the country.
