KA, or Ketamine Anonymous, is a free, anonymous twelve-step fellowship of people who help each other stop using ketamine and stay stopped. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using.

No. Narcotics Anonymous welcomes anyone whose problem is any drug, and some Cocaine Anonymous groups run ketamine-focused meetings. KA is the fellowship that centres ketamine specifically. Many people try more than one and settle where they feel most at home.

KA is young, so its in-person list is short but growing, currently in the North West, Yorkshire and on the south coast, plus an online meeting open to anyone in the UK. The meetings page shows the live list.

Do I have to have stopped using ketamine to come?

Accepted Answer

No. You do not have to have stopped, and you do not have to be sure you have a problem. Many people come while still using, listen, and decide in their own time.

Can KA help with the physical side of ketamine use?

Accepted Answer

Meetings are peer support, not medical care. Heavy ketamine use can cause physical harm, especially to the bladder, so it is worth seeing a GP as well, or calling NHS 111. Meetings work alongside medical help, not instead of it.

Is KA free and anonymous?

Yes. There are no fees and no referrals. What is said in the room stays in the room, and a first name is all anyone uses.
