12stepfinder lists 21,263 recovery meetings across the UK, drawn from 26 different fellowships. The figures below are counted live from the directory and refreshed daily, so they reflect what is actually listed right now, not a survey or an estimate.
This is a count of what 12stepfinder lists, not a claim to have every recovery meeting in the country. Fellowships publish their meetings in different places and some are not published online at all, so the real national total is higher. We add fellowships and sources as we find them. If something is missing, tell us at info@12stepfinder.co.uk and we will look into adding it.

12,317 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are listed in the UK, of which 7,748 can be joined online. AA is by a wide margin the largest fellowship in the country.
770 in-person Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are listed across Greater London, out of 1,360 in-person recovery meetings in the capital in total. Online meetings are not counted here, because they are not tied to a place, and any of them can be joined from London.
4,751 Narcotics Anonymous meetings are listed in the UK, of which 3,358 can be joined online. 265 of them meet in person across Greater London.
21 twelve-step fellowships hold meetings in the UK and are listed here, from AA and NA to smaller ones like Debtors Anonymous and Crystal Meth Anonymous. There is no worldwide total to quote: each fellowship is independent of the others, so no single body keeps a list. 12stepfinder also lists 5 peer support organisations that are not twelve-step, such as SMART Recovery and Recovery Dharma.
20,334 of the 21,263 meetings listed belong to a twelve-step fellowship. The rest belong to peer support organisations that work in a different way. All of them are free to attend.
12,985 of the 21,263 listed meetings, about 61%, can be joined online. More UK recovery meetings are now online than in person.
Alcoholics Anonymous is by far the largest, with 12,317 listed meetings, followed by Narcotics Anonymous and Cocaine Anonymous.
